What are some of the services you offer?

Repair or build motors, Trans, parts, chassis and custom build cars.   We are here to be of service.  We can do most special orders for customer lettering.

A Little about James

Racing, we are at Crawford Co. every Saturday night.  We eat, sleep, and live racing.  Married for 32 years, 2 grown boys (help in the shop) and one wonderful grand daughter.  Our business is all family ran for 5 years.

How long have you been into racing?

First raced in 1984, started at Tri State

How many cars have you owned and raced?

9 different ones including one pro stock.

Who influenced you the most about racing?

My dad was the sponsors of the two Ballard Brothers in the 60’s in Muskogee.

What made you decide to go into this type of business?

I had to spend all my nights at home looking for parts; I wanted to have a place to supply it to the public.

What do you think someone would find most helpful about your shop, if it was their first time visiting?

Customer service, we try to treat everyone the way I would want to be treated, like a human being.  And the experience of 30 plus years as a racer, and five years in business for the everyday race car driver and owner.

What advice would you give to a person who wanted to begin racing?

For the person to find a quality person to build your own car not to buy someone else’s car, you inherit their issues they were having.

If you could change anything about your business what would it be?  Goals for business?

I would like to increase my inventory to a larger space, I would like to have more drag racing and street car inventory.   My goals are to plan to eventually add an online catalog to my website at www.soonerracing.com.

If I were looking into buying something special for my racecar, why should I consider your store?

Knowledge and experience form the years of racing.  I am very competitive on my prices.  I constantly try to make sure I am fair with my pricing; I also offer many lines of products.  I can do custom orders; if I can’t find it you probably don’t need it. I absorb most of the freight charges for items.   I have only once raised my fuel prices last year and this year.  I only change my prices when I am forced to by the cost from the vendor’s going up.

What made you decide to become a sponsor for Boomer’s 1st annual expo/ auction?

Seemed right, it hasn’t been done in our area before would like to see it maybe keep our area money in our own area.   We are trying to get in between after the racing season ends and when most people start to prepare for the Chili Bowl in Tulsa.
